In a word, Excellent!

I ordered the 'surf & turf' and my large scotch fillet steak was perfectly-cooked rare, served with a stick of king prawns, beer-battered chips & small salad. I noticed that the squid main, garlic prawn main and pork cutlet were all generous serves & truly delicious.

Value for money, quality food. All sweets were good as well. I tried the New York-style baked cheesecake - I savored every morsel because it was so delicious. The coffees were professionally served & looked great as any other cafe.

Food overall from the 8 guests & watching the other diners, was definitely worth our visit to this restaurant. I hope you will have the same gastronomic experience as we did when you dine here as well!

Service:

Excellent!Incredibly courteous, professional, groomed with smiles for every diner & a little smalltalk as well. I was apprehensive initially, as the restaurant was fully booked & our meal orders were taken, but not the wine order. However, as the evening passed they proved how good they were!

Ambience:

The lighting was good, but the tables were black plastic with NO table cloths. The restroom facilities were hidden behind a concrete block wall that resembled a toilet facility in a park. The noise bouncing off the hard surfaces created a very loud atmosphere. Saturday night can be quite a din!

Overall:
Aside from the ambience of the restaurant which can be fixed by the owners, I was very impressed by my dining experience on Saturday, 30AUG08. The food and staff were excellent, the prices were not overly expensive & the total dining experience with a group of friends was memorable enough to want to go again. Although the food is served very quickly, the staff are busy enough, that they give diners a lot of time to chat amongst themselves without constant interruption. A very good experience!

My partner and I shared the smoked salmon bruschetta with crispy capers that was delicious. I followed this with the stuffed chicken which was served with perfectly roasted potatoes and side veggies, eliminating the need to order extra side serves. The chicken was tasty and my partner enjoyed his steak, even though it arrived medium rather than medium-rare that he ordered. The main courses were smaller than you might get in some other cafe's but they were full of flavour. You will definitely have room for dessert too. I opted for the sticky date pudding which was nice, but not as heavy and moist as I prefer, and my partner had the tiramisu which he enjoyed. The wine menu had enough choice for most and is reasonably priced.

A casual, modern setting with plenty of room between tables. Half of the restaurant was partitioned off so all of the diners were in the front half of the dining room, creating a more cosy feel.

Overall:
My partner and I dined here on Wednesday night and were pleasantly surprised from arrival to departure. All of the staff were extremely friendly and more than happy to accommodate the pram we had with us. Even though we were not blown away by the food, we enjoyed the evening, and will return to try their $14.95 pastas on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Myself and a friend dined there last night for the first time. The staff were very polite helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our seafood entrees and mains were excellent - well cooked quality fish and salad. They were also generous with the serving too. The atmosphere there is happy and relaxed. The toilets were clean with plenty of liquid soap and paper hand towel.........top marks Vencia.

Overall:
My husband and I went here on a Saturday night in August. We had seen the previous mixed reviews and wanted to give it a go. We made a reservation and right from taking our booking the service was friendly and overall very good.

The restaurant was divided into two sections, as there was a large group booking, or two, at the back of the restaurant. We were offered a choice of two tables and found our choice near a wall in the front section to be fine. The atmosphere could be described as jovial and friendly, but a fraction noisy obviously caused by the large size of the restaurant and lack of sound proofing and the concrete floors. But, it is an Italian restaurant, and the noisy buzz is part of the experience!

The food was pretty good. We had mussels and minestrone to start; both very good. I had veal for main, and my husband one of the chicken dishes. Both were tasty. We couldn't fit in dessert! The drinks were a little slow to arrive, and it was hard to get a second glass of wine as no one really noticed that our wine glass was empty. But the owner/manager attended to us eventually and sped things up.

Overall, the service was very good and attentive (just order your drinks early on a busy night!). We really had no complaints and will definitely be back. Give it a try!

My partner and I dined on a Sunday for lunch, it was quiet (only 8 tables in) but it was also the day of the Western Derby. We were delighted to find our favourite Italian wine on their extensive wine list (it is very hard to get outside wine clubs). The wait staff were very pleasant, neatly presented and always attentive. The restaurant itself has a very modern look and plenty of space between tables (not squished in), with the windows open during the day it was very enjoyable inside.

We ordered an antipasto platter for entrée, it was well presented, had a decent amount on the plate for two and all very tasty. Out mains came out in good time but not too fast as some restaurants just seem to want to get you out the door. I had the Spaghetti Marinara and my partner had the Fish of the Day. The Marinara had a good amount of seafood in it and meal size was ample, I couldn’t finish it all. The Fish was also nice, not over or under done, and was served with a large amount of potatoes and veggies.

We were quite full after our meals so we got desert to take away, we had a sticky date pudding and after 30secs in the microwave at home (as instructed by the maitre de) it was divine!

All in all we had a brilliant experience and would recommend this restaurant to all our friends.
