Go to Warwick if you are craving peking duck (5 star). I have eaten peking duck at a variety of Perth restaurants, and Warwick is by far the best for me. Order 24hrs in advance - (Full duck - 18skins; half duck - 9 skins)Skin is one course. Best to allow min. 2 serves per person. Only place to offer skin only, or skin with meat (extra charge). Additional courses on offer with peking duck include: sang choy bow, soup, fried rice, duck noodles etc - this can be ordered when you arrive.

Other menu favourites include: 2 way fish, japanese tofu, eggplant claypot w/ salted fish. Actually the rest of the menu is pretty standard Chinese fare (2.5 star), although you will be fairly full after 4 courses from the Peking Duck itself.

Service:

Fairly prompt. Not as busy as it used to be as there is a new Chinese restaurant addition two doors away from Warwick which is better decorated, offers more menu options (game meat incl), is more expensive, and caters for a different market. FYI the peking duck there is not as good as Warwick.

Ambience:

A little outdated, they have not changed the interior for as long as I can remember. If you have more than 6 people, best to book for a round table. The largest round table there can cater for 12 adults.

Overall:
I know people north and south of the river who travel to Warwick for the peking duck. It is the only place i go to because they serve the soup (2nd course) similar to shark's fin soup (minus to shark fin of course!)

I was excited by the large variety of fish dishes which are rarely available. I am not talking about fillet fish but whole fish (frozen). I had difficulty selecting a fish dish due to the large choices. In the end I had steamed whole rock cod with ginger and shallots. Fantastic value for $21, which was the best value steamed whole fish I have come across.

I can also recommend the crispy skin chicken with generous vinegar and chilli.

In addition to the menu there are also specials on a whiteboard towards the front of the restaurant. The style of cooking is Cantonese. The owner claimed that her Peking duck ($68) is one of her best dishes but needs to be pre-ordered a day ahead.

Service:

Good, warm and friendly service by the owner Jessi. I understand she is from Canton, China. The wine glasses came in all different styles.

Ambience:

Good ambience set appropriately by the Chinese prints and red decorations.

Overall:
Outstanding suburban Chinese Restaurant. The average cost of mains is $16.

Overall:
We often go to the Warwick chinese restaurant. It is a favourite of my parents and the food is good and cheap.

Ambience: tightly packed tables, some of them circular. A fairly large Chinese mural on the wall with bright fluoro lighting. Good smells coming from the kitchen. You can see into the kitchen from the main restaurant.

Service: it's what you expect for a local chinese. Functional and the food is served lightning quick.

Food: we had spring rolls for entree (ho hum), lemon chicken (very good), and sizzling szechuan beef, extra hot (good). Watch out for the spray from the hot dish! Also, it isn't very hot in my opinion. For vegetables: we had choy sum, chinese cabbage.

Price: I don't know. Dad paid. But I think it is very cheap. My parents like cheap places.

Overall: not a top quality chinese restaurant, but good and cheap. Put it on your regular list if you like chinese food.
