Food:

We went today for lunch and were happy with the food and service. We had the blini vegetable stack and warm chicken salad and shared a rhubarb and raspberry tart for dessert with coffee and a glass or two of wine each. I usually have the wonderful freshly squeezed juices, but not today.

Service:

We were asked twice if our meals were ok and were served promptly and with a smile!!

Ambience:

One of the BEST VIEWS in Perth, overlooking the sea and very relaxing.

Overall:
One of my fav cafes and bill came to $65 for two lunches/desserts/wine/coffee - very reasonable.

I went to Wild Fig for dinner with 3 friends last night. I ordered the vegetable blini, one friend ordered the snapper & the other two ordered the Foghorn chicken. The snapper fillet was tiny, full of bones and served on some really sad looking & bland noodles, the Foghorn chicken was (according to my friends) tasteless and there was no avocado to be seen (contrary to the menu's description). My dish was probably the best, but in saying that, it was definitely nothing to write home about. It was edible & had a very occasional tasty mouthful, but the haloumi was really lumpy and I found a hair in it. Not happy! I didn't say anything because I had suggested the venue & I didn't want to turn my friends of their already uninspiring meal

Service:

At 1st the service was good. Water, menus & ice bucket were delivered pronto. Then it all turned bad. The food came out staggered- we had to ask where 2 of the meals were as the others were going cold. Then we sat with a cluttering of finished meals for ages whilst waitresses ambled past aimlessly

Ambience:

This is just about the only thing the venue had going for it on this particular occasion. It's a lovely venue with a vibrant and eclectic feel to it. The sound level was perfect and the lighting was spot on.

Overall:
I was really disappointed as I had been here before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I wont be rushing back any time soon.

Went to a late breakfast. It was a lovely day, diners can have a choice of eating alfresco or inside (majority of the tables are outside) The waitperson was very cheerful and we were given a bottle of water straight away and a couple of menus. I ordered the Canadian Pancake and a fruit smoothie. My co worker ordered a big breakfast. We didn't wait very long at all. His big breakfast was well cooked and my pancake was well done, with maple syrup and butter. It also had bacon and nice fluffy eggs on the side. After my breakfast meeting, I decided to order a hot chocolate. I'm very particular with my hot chocolate but it came up very very nice and the wait wasn't that long either. The cafe has a good view which is the ocean across the road. It is very nice and relaxing especially during spring. The price was not bad either considering the quality and service. The lunch and dinner menu looks also inviting. I would visit this cafe again in the future.

My mother and I happened upon the Wild Fig during our West Coast Hwy drive yesterday midday. I had seen the place before but never stopped off for a meal like we did yesterday.

There was a number of people already seated. A large group of people left fairly soon after we arrived which sort of cleared the place for a little while. Most people were already eating when we were seated. We were offered the menu and water was brought to our table. Mum ordered light and decided on the Chicken, Thytme and Porcini soup while I chose the Prawnoodle salad.

We each ordered a fresh juice. Mum going for a Morning glory (orange, ? and ginger - the latter being a little overpowering). I Ordered a Pink Lady (which was watermelon, strawberry and cranberry juices). I liked mine as it was not too sweet and with ice it was very refreshing.

Our meals arrived shortly after (not too long a wait as previous reviewers of this restaurant had commented they experienced). Our waiter was a very happy bubbly sort of chap and nothing seemed too much trouble for him.

Mum likened the taste of her soup to a Chicken and cognac pate sort of flavour. It was thick like a Chowder and she said it was very pleasant.

My prawn noodle salad was a very unusual blend of flavours which was a really nice surpise for the ole taste buds. I was expecting a taste of 'asian' but this salad was a complete surprise. The rocket leaves provided a bitterness that complimented the flavoursome garlic grilled prawns, there was a hint of chilli but also a sweetness which was a real buzz. I was very impressed with my dish. The serving was a perfect size for lunch and not too many noodles to overpower the salad. Mum found the soup serving a little too large for her to finish.

As had things to do we opted to skip coffee and afters. The bill came to $46.00 which wasnt too bad. We had thoroughly enjoyed our lunch so no complaints on the price.

The casual ambience was good, mood was perfect for the setting and the coastal views were "Perth-West Coast perfect"

Yes, we'll give the Wild Fig another go. Perhaps other diners should try them too. You be the judge for yourself!

I've been here twice recently and both times I had an excellent time. One word of warning - go hungry! The portion sizes are large - I shared the tasting plate with my friend and we were both so stuffed by the time our large mains came to the table. The tasting plate is scrummy tho - there are about 5 different things on the platter - chicken drummettes/bread/dips/salmon skewers/boccocini - scrumptious. The first main I ate there was the pork belly although I found it a bit hard to eat as it was presented in a bowl. The cabbage salad was really nice though - good amount of walnuts. The second main I had there the following time was the salmon with the lemongrass butter. This was the best salmon I have tasted in a long, long time; it was cooked to perfection and melted like the accompanying zesty butter.

For dessert I sampled the baked chocolate pudding which is worth the wait and I appreciated the note on the menu advising that it could take up to 15mins to be ready which it did.

On both occasions (one mid week and one on a Saturday night) the service was unobtrusive but attentive and I never felt rushed. The staff seem to know their produce as well which makes a difference. I would heartily recommend the Wild Fig and I intend to go back again and again.
