Adelphi Steak House & Bar (8) Perth       matthecat 19-03-2010

Food:

Great steak. Had the fillet mignon with blue cheese crust and it was to die for. Beautifully cooked and accompanied by fluffy mashed potato.

Service:

Was very quiet and we were well looked after.

Ambience:

Tired and could do with a makeover.

Overall:
Will be back - great meat consistently. Have never been disappointed.

Tony Roma's (13) Perth       matthecat 19-03-2010

Food:

Seriously underwhelming!

Had the half steak/half ribs for mains and all you could taste on the ribs was the sauce -very over-powering.
Steak was tender and cooked as requested (medium) and chips (not really french fries as per the menu) were crisp. Blue cheese sauce was yummy but very salty.

Ribs were not very meaty.

Others had the chicken & ribs and fillet steak and were generally satisfied but not raving about their meals.

Service:

Promptly seated and water provided. Drink orders taken and received. Plates cleared shortly after last person at the table finished eating.

Ambience:

Noisy but it is a fun place and not to be taken too seriously. Good for large groups.

Overall:
Wouldn't be going back in a hurry. Better options nearby for a good steak.

Veritas Restaurant (13) Highgate       donnelle 18-03-2010

Food:

For entree we shared a tasting plate and I had a couple of lovely oysters. The platter had a good selection and the grilled artichoke was delicious. My only complaint was that the bread was not a sourdough or crusty loaf but slices of white toast with the crusts removed. My main of homemade gnocci was amazing! The best I have ever eaten. The pillows dissolved in my mouth and the roast pumpkin was perfectly seasoned. My 3 dining partners had the homemade pasta and it was also delicious but a little salty (given the sausage and capers) for my taste. Serving sizes were on the generous side so we didn't indulge in dessert.

Service:

Attentive but not intrusive

Ambience:

Cosy and our table was neatly tucked in front of the bar so it was almost like our own private space

Overall:
Fantastic - I'll be back again even after using my entertainment book voucher

Yuki Japanese Restaurant (20) Willetton       rienzied 17-03-2010

Food:

Food was very fresh (which is critical for Japanese Food). My wife enjoyed the bento plate and for me the sashimi. The Miso soup was very nice and not salty at all.

Service:

The staff were very attentive and extremely polite. The table was cleaned in time for our dessert.

Ambience:

The carpet on the floor did cut down the noise, although there were 2 rather loud customers. However, we both could have decent conversation and no problems

Overall:
In terms of value and location, this restaurant is well managed. The food was good and authentic. Highly recommended

Cosenza's Seafood Restaurant (7) Bunbury       camdaman42 16-03-2010

Food:

The food was as always, outstanding! Beautifully prepared, and full of flavour and variety!

Service:

Whoever the new owner is, they don't have a clue. The new owner was maitre'd, and gave away the table we requested. We then had to wait 20 minutes, before I had to ask her for a wine menu. At least the originaly waitstaff are still there, they're fantastic.

Ambience

Overall:
I have no respect for the new owner after the service she gave on Valentines Day. The only smart thing she has done, is keep the original staff. A round of appluase to the original waitstaff and the guys in the kitchen. As always, you guys are awesome and do a fantastic job!!!

Wagamama Subiaco (19) Subiaco       pennae 13-03-2010

Food:

Wagamama can be a bit hit and miss. It's just sooooo expensive for a noodle bar but the regular offering of buy-one-get-one free vouchers makes it affordable. My friend and I tried the new autumn menu and had the duck dish. It was a generous portion, but very greasy. Noodles should not swim in oil!

Service:

Very poor - my friend's meal was given to the table next to us (the wait person was berated by a supervisor in front of us or we wouldn't have really known). We had to ask for glasses of water 3 times. Dessert then took over 20 minutes to appear.

Ambience:

When it gets busy, Wagamama pumps! But compared to the Eastern States stores, this ones seems to lack the vibe they are so desperately trying to achieve.

Overall:
If you've got discount vouchers, Wagamama is a great, usually quick, meal. Their desserts are also always lovely.
